Best Nail Treatments For Long, Strong and Healthy Nails

It’s not new that peoples are not equal when it comes to natural endowment. Some people have natural attributes that some don’t; which include having a long and full eyebrows and eyelashes. But however, if you experience weak, brittle or peeling nails, well you would probably be pleased to hear that all these could be something in the past by simply using ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen cupboard to make some natural treatments that you can do at home.

The methods below are effective for brittle nails, long and healthy growth of nails
By Using Lemon Juice

The vitamin C in lemon juice promotes stronger growth of nails and this brightens up the nails and removes stains from the nails. Get a lemon fruit and squeeze it to get it juice into a container. Using a cotton pad, swipe the juice over each nail and allow it to sit on the nails for few minutes. Alternatively, you could also use a slice of lemon directly on the nail. Doing this twice or thrice a week following with a rich moisturizer tends to improve the strength and growth of the nail.

Also, few drops of lemon juice could be as well added to two tablespoons of olive oil and microwave in a cup for about 17 seconds until it is warm to make a nail mask which you can easily massage your nail with and leave it for about 30 minutes on the nail, or you can as well leave it overnight on the nail for rapid result.

By Using Honey

If you are not new here, you would have probably read one of my posts where I have made mention that honey is one of the most used ingredient in the making of natural treatments because it works for varieties of thing.

Honey helps fight bacterial and fungal which brings about retardation in their growth which results to keeping your nails and cuticles nourished and suppled.  Combination of honey’s hydrating properties with those of lemon juice also works well in treating the nails by making a honey and lemon nail mask by mixing two tablespoons of honey with a few drops of lemon juice. Massage this treatment into your nails and leave it for about 15 to 20 minutes. Afterwards, rinse off properly and you should be left with brighter nails, soft cuticles. Regular use of this, results to stronger nails.

By Using Garlic Oil

Nail growth could be promoted by the selenium in Garlic. You could as well rub your nails with a sliced piece of garlic, or probably make your own garlic oil to use as a nail mask if you find using directly, the slice of garlic too pungent for you.

To get this done, fry chopped garlic in a pan with some olive oil for about 10 minutes, making sure that the oil does not bubble or produce smoke. Then let the oil chill and strain the oil into a container, discarding the garlic pieces. Hence, the treatment can be massaged into your nails and cuticles every night before going to bed and rinse it off completely the following morning. Remember, massage stimulates blood flow which helps deliver nutrients from your bloodstream to your nails.

By Using Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a very active hydrating agent which can help strengthen your nails and soften your cuticles. However, it has anti-fungal properties which I think should make you less worry, if you are prone to nail infections.

To produce the treatment, get a coconut oil and warm it for about 20 seconds before massaging it into the cuticles before going to bed. To protect the treatment from slipping off your fingernails, you could wear a pair of thin cotton gloves overnight. Though you would probably not need this if you can comport yourself while you sleep. — Check out how to grow thick and full Eyelashes with Honey

By Using Apple Cider Vinegar

This Apple Cider Vinegar also has anti-fungal treatment, so I would recommend this as a must-try if you suffer with fungal nail infections, which obviously, if left untreated can cause you to lose the infected nails.

The acid in Apple cider vinegar works well by neutralizing the alkaline environment that promotes fungal growth. To make this treatment: fill a medium bowl with equal amount of warm water and apple cider vinegar then soak your feet for about 20 minutes and pat dry afterwards with a clean towel. An apple cider vinegar soak twice daily is advised.

Useful tips

Limit water exposure:  Keep your nails outside the water for most your soak. Don’t soak nails in the bath or pool for too long

Increase water intake: Drink lots of water to keep you hydrated. Hydration is the key for beautiful skin, hair and nails.

Avoid alcohol-based hand sanitizers: This can be especially drying for your nails
